I would like to know whether there is such a java api where in we can create a word document on the fly, as requested by the user and also to mail that document to the requested mail address

Amrish,

Use apache FOP to generate a RTF file from xml via java. All MS Word apps can open RTF and their computer should have a mapping to this from their browser. Also you can use FO also available at xml.apache.org
