I'm facing a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError problem while unmarshalling a large xml file. I'm using the following code :

fileInputStream = new FileInputStream(new File(xmlFile));

mapping = mapping.unmarshal(fileInputStream);

I would like to have more control over the proces that happens when i call unmarshal. So that i can prevent the error to occur. Did anyone face and solved this problem already in a neat way? Or does anyone have any links to pages where this problem is solved.

JAXB is in early release and has many bugs/limitations. As it stands, there is not much control over the unmarshalling process other than writing simpler/more complicated xml to java binding file. if you are getting OutOfMemoryError, try to increase the memory when you start the JVM which may solve your problem. If not, post the bug to the bug parade on Sun's web site and let the JAXB people deal with it. I have gotten some strange errors with JAXB and all I could really do is submit the errors to the bug parade.
