Hey ppl,

I am using VA Java 4 which is giving me this problem that I can not seem to fix. I am using the batch calls for ODBC, and I am getting an exception
"java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException" within VAJ. However when I
run it from the command line (not using VA eg - java yadayada) it executes
perfectly. This is what causes the error to be generated in VA:

// add SQL String to the batch

stmt.addBatch(qryStr);

Where stmt is a Statement object.

I Thankyou for the help in advance !!

UnsupportedOperationException is generally thrown from methods that are not supported by a particular implementation of an interface, such as java.sql.Statement.

The JDBC driver you are using from within VAJ probably does not support batch statements. Most likely you have configured things so that you are using a different JDBC driver when running outside VAJ.
