hi ,


i'm trying to send mail from a jsp page running on linux, thro a mail server running on win 98 . i'm able to send mail if i use the smtpclient class , but when i use javamail package, i get an error saying , could not connect to smtphost localhost ... but the mail server is running on another win 98 machine . i set the smtphost property also ( one of the examples in the site ) . is it any configuration problem on linux . please let me know

Since the Win98 box is another machine, you should not be getting an exception about unable to connect to localhost. You've setup your properties incorrectly.
