sending mail after a specified time

i want to know how to send mail to particular user after a specific time period or days.
like the user has scheduled an event in a calendar, and after specific days mail is sent automatically to that person regarding the event.

There is nothing in the JavaMail API to delay the sending of a message. If you check other FAQs, you'll find out how to deal with delayed actions.
