IntellijIDEA locks jar files under Windows NT/XP. I cannot delete jar files that are in IDEA's classpath while the IDE is open.

Just a note on the various IDEs I have used regarding this issue:-

JBuilder doesn't lock the jar files.

NetBeans ( and I assumed Forte also ) would also lock the jar files.

It is a bit inconvienient if the jar files get locked. Especially if you are using Visual SourceSafe as the version control tool

Yep. That's how windows file sharing works. If anyone has a file open, its got a read-lock. You can't delete anything with a read lock on it.



Either shut down your IDE to delete your file, or just don't delete your file.
