In the simple-struts example, the help.jsp file have action="/start". But this action gets converted to "/do/start". How does this happen. I did not find any documentation on the same.

The custom tag does that for you. This way you can
switch what prefix is used, or between prefix and
suffix matching, without editing the JSPs.

taglib's package in the Struts distribution.
