Thread execution assumption

Is it a true assumption, that once a thread starts executing object's method it will not be interrupted before method returns result? Taking into account that method does not have synchronization blocks. So it does not communicate with the thread manager, by itself.

No, the thread can be interrupted at any time. The thread scheduler has control over stopping and starting threads.

RTFM on synchronization -- you don't seem to understand what it's really for.
