Hi I suggest you to use JProbe and it is a very good tool. We used it
several times and fixed lot of bugs. You can download a trail version
from www.sitraka.com.

Several tools do exist, depending on what kind of application you have. OptimizeIt (www.optimizeit.com) and JProbe (www.jprobe.com) are two that will profile your application, show you where bottlenecks are, etc. You can also run the Java interpreter in profile mode (with JDK 1.3, you type "java -Xprof" or "java -Xrunhprof"), but the results are not as nicely formatted.

For web applications, a different set of performance tools exist, including Apache JMeter and others.
