how we can send an ecard using java mail api? In different sites there we mention only from and to addresses and not the smtp server, then how the mail is sent without mentioning the mail server. how it detects the server?

I don't have a clue what you are talking about regarding ecards. The JavaMail API provides no mechanism to "detect" what the SMTP server is. You must provide one.
