Ant's compilation compiles all files in my source tree unecessarily. Is there anyway to tell Ant not to compile files if for the following case:

The .class file it is going to create already exists (i.e. it was already compiled in a previous ant build) is newer than the source .java file? This is adding *lots* of unecessary time to my build. Thanks!

Check out the FAQ at http://jakarta.apache.org/ant/faq.html#always-recompiles and see if this solves the problem.
