I am including a manifest attribute in the jar task pointing to a manifest file.

I expected the manifest file I specified to be in the jar file, but instead, there is an ant generated manifest with the wrong info.


I am using ant 1.4. The jar task does not give any useful info with -verbose or -debug.

Has someone else run into this?

Ant does this when it thinks that your manifest file is invalid. Of course your file is probebly valid, but you'll need to pretty it up anyway so that Ant can see its OK.
