I am able to compile and run my java programs, however I am unable to pin down the jar file which contains the packages?

There are few jar files in my c:jdk1.3.0_02lib and c:jdk1.3.0_02jrelib none of them seem to have any common java class files. Where are they hiding?

If you are using Windows for development, check out ZipScan, freely downloadable from downloads.cnet.com. Point it a your JDK installation directory and you should find everything you need to know.

That's a generic answer. More particularly, you will most likely find the files you seek in a file called rt.jar.
