In a multi-tier architecture, what is the percentage of traffic involved from web browser to web server and from web server to appliation server. For example if am accessing a JSP from a browser which is residing in a web server and that JSP talks to my EJB which is present on the app server. In that case what % of data I am sending from browser to web server and from web server to app server?

How long is a piece of string? The answer will always depend on the specifics of the application in question - how much data is used/re-used, whether information is cached, how intensive the processing is, and so on and so forth. I am unsure whether there are even tools which can help you here - perhaps others can help in this regard?
