I want ant to start a server before running a junit test. Is there a way I can make ant exec and not wait for the server to finish? I am running on Windows NT. I tried making ant exec "cmd.exe /C start server.exe" but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

Look into Cactus (in the Jakarta Commons project) for examples of how to do this.

Also, if you run your server as a service, you can kick off a command-line that starts it and completes, using the command "net start " on Windows NT/2000 systems.
