AWT TextField borders

I want to hide the grey TextField border in a normal applet while still displaying the text.


I know how to do this with Swing and JTextField, but I am confused as to how to accomplish the same task with TextField.

You can't. You have no control over the display of the AWT components. They use the native widget set (are drawn outside Java).
