Shared Folder access in Lotus Domino through IMAP

I am trying to use the JavaMail API, with Lotus Domino R5 to access a shared folder of user1 from user2. user2 has access to shared folder of user1. The shared namespace (store.getSharedNamespaces()) for user2 comes up with nothing.

I am wondering if the sharing is enabled for imap clients in lotus notes. Any ideas?
