I have been trying to run websphere test environment persistent name server without success. I am running Windows NT using VAJ 3.5 with patch 2. I am connecting to DB2 database on an AS400. The servlet engine is started and working. Starting the persistant name server I am using .... Bootstrap port=100 Database URL=jdbc:as400:/111.111.11.11 (just an example) Database driver=com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver This results in an error "com.ibm.ejs.EJSException". Information from the console is below. Can anyone help? I have been unsuccessfull in finding detailed documentation on WTE. Thanks. Joel Console In   More>>

I had the same problem, whit several mistakes I made.

    1) be sure the Persistant Name server is runing if you are using a DataSource name.

    2) be sure of the spealing of your data source (... well could be)

    3) after a crash a VAJ, the imported class for the JDBC driver where simply lost. (hum.!!)
So be sure U have the correct driver package (ie classe12.zip for Oracle) imported.

    Hope its help

Try switching to the jdbc.idbDriver. The PNS in VAJ is probably trying to create tables, etc in a database to which you do not have the appropriate priviledges. Since the Test Env is primarily intended for small scale unit testing, you will probably not need to connect to a full scale DB.

The idbDriver provides "local" database simulation. You can still connect to DB2 with the EJBs/Servlets/JSPs.

I get this same error. Do you have a solution?
