VisualAge 3.5 Enterprise Edition on Windows 98

* During installation, I get a command window with the error
'Too many parameters.'

* The removing temp files window freezes after progressing for about 66% (2/3rds)

* When I close the command window the installation is finished window pops up.

* Every time Visual Age is started, I get the command window with 'Too many parameters'

What should I do to fix this problem?

I'm not entirely sure what may be happening, but as the VAJ installation tries to use the java command line, there is a chance that you have not enough environment space. You should look at your autoexec.bat to see what environment variables are being set and whether or not you could get rid of any. There is a command you can use in your autoexec to assign more memory to the environment, but I've clean forgotten what it is! Sorry!
