when should I use applets versus JSP or vice versa. I am currently developing some applets, but I have been running into a lot of VM problems. Setting up an environment for a normal use is becoming a major problem. Should I use JSP instead? Is JSP secure?

JSP runs on the server. Applets run on the client. It really depends on what you are trying to do as far as which you use.
