How to see Java API on linux? I don't see the jdk1.2.2 directory on linux.

I think I've puzzled out what you're really
asking: why doesn't something run when you
type "java"?


You need to have java in your
PATH. See the answer at

You have to download and install Linux version of the Java 2 Platform,
Standard Edition vers. 1.3.
