Trouble sending mail from linux using javamail...

I am trying to send mail using javamail. The program works fine on windows 2000 but on linux the program freezes on encountering

Transport.send(message);

I have no idea as to what the problem might be. Any ideas are appreciated.

anyone discovered what the problem might be, I am experiencing it also?
