Is there any way of using ENVY server with VAJ Professional Edition?

My company development budget is tight so we cannot buy up to VAJ Enterprise Edition. Rather than endure the pain of VSS integration (does anyone know how to get 'Refresh project from SCM server' working with recursion, and how to diff against VSS files properly from VAJ?) we'd like to be able to use Professional Edition with ENVY server.

No, the repository server connection is a feature of Enterprise Edition only.
