Is there a way of getting Borland 4 ent. ed. to work with the Borland AppServer 4.5 instead of the version that comes with the product(Iinprise Appserver 4.0)?


The EJB development seems to fail when switching to 4.5. Strange exceptions occure and some javax.ejb.* classes are not found.

Sorry about this question.


Sometimes I have to remind my self to RTFM.

The BAS4.5 readme file shows you clearly what to do.



  1. copy the file BAS45_HOME/AppServer/console/jbuilder/jb40/bas45.jar to JBUILDER_HOME/lib/ext
  2. restart
  3. set the "enterprise setup..." from the tools menu.
  4. restart
  5. now everything should work.
