Creating Header and footer using jsf

I was trying to use header and footer in JSF.I was not able to get, without using tiles.can you suggest me the code.Now iam using JSF 1.2.How can i use the tiles in JSF.Please send me reply.

use facelets ( http://www.jsfcentral.com/articles/facelets_1.html ) for your problem.
