I have implemented a framework and have a abstract ParentServlet in a jar file shared with multiple web applications. These apps inherit this servlet class and create their own servlets but all the major task is done internally this servlet.
This jar file is in a classpath and not in the WEB-INF directory. I don't want to do that.
What are the best ways to make this servlet and other classes in that jar file as thread-safe? What happens to instance variables in this ParentServlet when two or more web apps are accessing those.
