If you use keyPressed in KeyListener for holding a button, there is first one call for keyPressed, then after a litte while it calls fast all the time. Is there any way to remove the delay before the fast callings start?

No, the key repeat delay is a function of the host operating system (or come to think of it, it might even be in the hardware BIOS).
