I'm trying to input from a text file.

ie:"in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(infile));"

When I click compile and run I get the message in the subject header above.

I think I can nominate a directory in a property somewhere that netbeans will look in by default.

Where do I do this?

Cheers.

If you go to the project properties screen and click on the "run" category, you will see a "Working Directory" option, browse to your directory and that should do it.
