Hi all,

I am very new to AJAX approach of web development, could I say that AJAX is redefining the way we interact with the web application?

Will AJAX help on reducing the work we require in developing a web application?

Thanks

AJAX doesn't reduces amount of work required in development of webapp. Instead it gives ability to introduce to your application some features which weren't possible before.

It could be refreshing part of the page, retrieving some info from the server at the background, performing request which is invisible to user, etc.

Thanks to AJAX it became possible to develop, for instance, a vector graphic editor using only HTML, CSS and JavaScript (see www.litha-paint.com).

AJAX really only provides measurable value to the end-user sitting at their web browser; I don't think I would say "redefining" though, but that's my opinion. Implementing AJAX tends to cause a lot of additional pain, effort, and confusion for the development side of the equation, as well, so your second question is, in the current state of things, "no".
