Hi all, I would like to configure Tomcat 5.5 so that I don't see the default start page. Instead, I would like to see my web-application simply by going to "http://localhost:8080". In Tomcat 4.1, I could modify the "index.jsp" file in the "ROOT" folder to redirect to my web-app (let's call it "myfirstweb-app". However, Tomcat 5.5 now comes with a pre-compiled servlet as the default start page. What is the best way to set up Tomcat 5.5 to see "myfirstweb-app" without having to see the default start page? NOTE: Typing "http://localhost:8080/myfirstweb-app" and pressing enter is not a viable solution for me. Thank you in advance t   More>>

there is surely a configuration parameter (in one of the xml files in the "conf" directory) that is mapping the "/" URL to the "ROOT" directory. surely there's a way to monkey with that. Specifically how, though, I couldn't say.
