I'm using Lucene to index a set of files. Due to size restrictions, the content of the files is UnStored: it is analyzed and indexed, but it is not stored in the index structure.

When a search is done, one of the things I wanted to show was a context, i.e. for each document returned by lucene, show the first phrase where the query terms appear. Is there any way of doing this, whitout having to store the file contents in the index?

Thanks in advance,

Francisco

No, unfortunately Lucene can't perform magic just yet, so you'll need to save the content. Note, however, that you CAN compress the content, if disk space is an issue!
