What is it about JBuilder (2005) that's keeping me from being able to get around this compile (& ... Insight) error?

This hasn't been the case since ... what? jdk1.3?

I've got my JB set up right now to:
o Paths: java version 1.5.0_01-b08
o Language features: 1.4 w/ asserts
o Target VM: 1.4 & later
o compiler: javac
