do you mean, is JSF best used there or is JSF best used somewhere else instead (e.g. if you have to use JSF somewhere, where is best to start trying to use it)?

or do you mean, is JSF best there, or is some other framework instead? (e.g. is there anything in JSF which makes it easier to work with data a lot, compared to some other framework)?

I'm not really sure, I've only read about stuff, haven't gotten to use them yet, but I don't think that JSF itself really offers much for dealing with data (?), I think that's really the responsibility of a different "layer" .... I think (from my reading so far) that Spring with iBatis is perhaps best, for the middle layers dealing with data-centric things.

And of course then you can put JSF or Struts on top of Spring + iBatis. (or you can even use Spring MVC)
