Hi,

I just want to know how to propagate error from Javabean which is accessing the database, to a web-page.
This will be helpful to report the actual database error to user.

I am using Javabean to access the database tables and JSP to show that table data to user.

I know that in ASP/VC++ it is done through global error object that VC++ propagets the error in IErrorInfo interfact and the ASP access it by err.Description [err is error object in ASP]


What is the JavaBean/JSP equivalent for that ?

I think you should use the 'normal' Exception handling methodology for this, i.e. either throw your own exception or let it be thrown for you.


In the JSP, catch and handle it, OR define your own error page to handle uncaught exceptions.
