Accessing of shared variables of 4gl from JAVA


I am able to call the native methods using the JNI but is it possible to access the shared variable of native language (c,4gl) from java


if yes Please provide links or reading stuff if any

"shared variables", what do you mean? Environment variables of a process? Shared memory in an OS-dependent and/or application-dependent API? (maybe your vendor provides a Java API, if you're lucky)
