How to create a log file for our own application


for example I had a servlet application deployed in the Weblogic ,It's a server side script it will execute when the server is started.


SO if their is any exception found in the script it will stop the whole process.For this I have to write a create a log file and i HAve to maintain the activities of the servlet code .How to do it .Give sum suggestions!!1

U can surely solve this problem using a tool called log4j.

Commons Logging (jakarta.apache.org/commons), on top of Log4J (logging.apache.org) is the way I would go.

You should use log-4j logging tool.
