How to develope a lightweight component?


Like, as it is said everywhere, swing components are. Without peers. If this is possible... How can one drow something in pure java without java.awt.* On the other hand if swing drows using awt and thereby peers, how can it be called "pure java"!?? What makes it "platform independent"?

Anyways, I'll answer the part of your question that I understand : the java classes are platform independent as the JVM takes care of mapping to the OS. This is true unless you are doing JNI, which is completely different.


PS : I think you meant drAw instead of drOw...
