Hi All,


I have created index with Persistance Type FSDirectory. Index directory size becomes 4 GB.



I want for create index with Persistance Type RAMDirectory for 4 GB data. I have 1 GB Ram currently. Is it works fine..



Can one suggest me quick.

RAMDirectory is not persistent. It only lives in your RAM, and only while your Lucene application is running. If you have only 1 GB of RAM, then you will not be able to put 4 GB of data in it, or at least not without some kind of compression, which you would have to devise yourself.
