We have an application that writes formatted HTML directly to a JspWriter object. Unfortunately, my company wants to change the look and feel, but the look and feel is definited in the class that writes to the JspWriter object. The call to output the HTML is in a render() method. Is there any way to capture this output before it is actually sent to the JspWriter object?

TIA,
Michael

Does the render() method take the JspWriter as an argument? If so, then you could implement your own JspWriter which actually captures the HTML output in a buffer. You could then do whatever you like with that -- modify it, and/or write it to the "real" JspWriter.
