The Jakarta POI enables data in Excel spreadsheet files to be read (and written) from Java. It is then just a matter of using the PreparedStatement.setXXXXXX methods to insert or update rows in the DB table using the data read from the Excel file.

Depending on your needs you may want to look at classes like CallableStatement and Statement and methods to insert BLOBs into a table. All the classes you will need are in the sql package.

A google query like this http://www.google.dk/search?q=insert+blob+oracle+jdbc&ie=UTF-8&hl=da&btnG=Google-s%C3%B8gning&meta=

will also turn up lots of examples.
