In the outbound configuration I would like to add custom mail header field to the outbound email. The custom mail header field will use value stored in my JMS message. Unfortunately, I only see standard email field (in form of a dropdown list) when attempting to define a new Header Translation rule.



Is there a way to get around this limitation?

Currently you can't set custom headers in outbound emails (nor parse on inbound). The reason why we didn't implement custom headers is simplicity concerning configuration (we can handle it with a drop down list now). I'll add a job fix and may be we will support this in a future version.
