I use NetBeans for my development with internal Tomcat server. I have to produce JSP pages in CP1250. Although I include directive:

<%@page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1250"%>

I always receive question mark character instead of national characters used in CP1250. Please, could anybody help?

Marek

Add new line to (~/tomcat/bin/catalina.sh) after "Get standard environment variables", somewhere in row 68:
CATALINA_OPTS="-Dfile.encoding=ISO-8859-1"

Also, I think you need a space between your semi-colon and "charset".

Does your browser support "windows-1250"?

Is what you're setting as your contentType showing up as you expect in your browser's "Page Info" page?

Perhaps "iso-8859-2" (unicode) is an appropriate charset instead of "windows-1250".
