If I know a machine's IP (or name) and then name of a public shared folder over there, within a LAN (from another computer) I can list files/folders in the specified directory: [Code Listing] File remoteFile = new File("//113.33.0.1/remoteDir/remoteFile.txt"); if (remoteFile.exists() && remoteFile().isFile()){      // open }   This works fine, but what I need is to provide only the IP address or the name of the computer connected in the   More>>

If I know a machine's IP (or
name) and then name of a public shared folder over there, within a LAN (from
another computer) I can
list files/folders in the specified directory:

[Code Listing]

File remoteFile = new File("//113.33.0.1/remoteDir/remoteFile.txt");

if (remoteFile.exists() && remoteFile().isFile()){

     // open

}

This works fine, but what I need is to provide
only the IP address or the name of the computer connected in the same LAN,
and get listed all the available (i.e., publicly shared) folders in
that machine from another computer in the same LAN. I am using Java 2 SDK 1.4 and working on Windows Platform. Can
anyone please help me on this issue?
