There are so many patterns to follow.

The patterns what i prefer in ur case is

ServiceLocator,BusinessDelagate and SessionFacade.

1. Service Locator.
Here is the place where ur lookup operations are performed.

2. BusinessDelegate
Here is the place for the code to talk to ur server layer, make a call to sesssion facade.

3. SessionFacade
Here is the place to make a call to the beans and DAOs.

From ur swings application u make a call to the BD. BD will talk to the service locator and get the required info for bean location. And then use the info from BD to make a call to the corresponding bean or facade.

Regards

Nagendra
