I want to create a Session bean,a a decorator for the
class that uses a socket.Is that a problem?And how can I solve it?
I pice of code:
public class SocketUser{
public byte useSocket(){
return socket.getInputStream().readByte();
public claas MYSessionBean extends SessionBean{
SocketUser su;
public byte useSuocket{
return su.useSocket();

I am working on an application that does something similar... the Session bean sends a JMS message that is picked up by an MDB which then calls a Java library (POJOs) making a call to an outside server via TCP sockets (SOAP calls to an external system).

I would not try to pass the Socket around though, but keep the functionality hidden behind the veil of the EJBs public interface.
