Can I have multibyte data as initial parameter name and value in web.xml? Like I want to use "paramu3068" as paramname and "xu3683089" as value.

thanks
Rajesh

You probably can do this, but I would recommend against it. It is very difficult to read those characters and check for correctness. It's bad enough that the values of property files, when run through native2ascii are completely unreadable.

Sun should really fix the Properties class to read using a specified encoding.
