In RMI all primitive parameters and object parameter are passed by "pass-by-value" only why it is so?

What is Remote Object parameter in RMI?What is the difference between Remote object parameter and object parameter?

Because they (e.g. their values) have to be copied/"marshalled" (possibly munged & reformatted & re-represented), transferred across the network, "unmarshalled"/copied again.
