Can Java "decompilers" generate Java source from serialized Java class files?

A .class file declares the structure of instances of a give type (Class). It declares member variables, methods, and contains bytecode that is executable by a VM. It is basically a blueprint for creating an instance.


When you serialize an object, you are only serializing the instance, not the class declaration. This primarily consists of member variables of the instance.

Good question. The answer is simply no. Serialization stores objects, not classes. Is that clear enough? If not,
serialize one class object and compare it with the .class file.
