unable to get gif images using javamail-1.3 and jdk 1.2

Hi,

I need to upgrade to use JMA 1.3 while keeping JDK 1.2. CLASSPATH remains the same except that it includes mail.jar from JMA 1.3 on top of j2ee.jar (v 1.2). I get a NoClassDefFoundErrorException on sun.awt.motif.MToolkit when getting .gif images. If I remove mail.jar from CLASSPATH, I am able to see .gif images without the mentioned exception. What should I do?
