Is there any way in Java to retrieve the access and creation times for a file?? I checked in Java.IO.File and there is only one method "lastModified()" which returns the last modified time. I read one of the similar questions in the forum, but that was in 1999 and the answer to that was NO. I was wondering if SUN added this feature in its latest version. Please let me know.

I dont think such an option is available.
One way around it is to incorporate the timstamp in the name of the file,when that file is being created. But this is possible only if ur code does the file creation.
